Say "Be Mine" Without Going Broke

Savvy spending tips for Valentine’s Day
It is that time of year again where men and women everywhere dream up ways to make that special someone feel special, and in a day and age where everything is public the bar keeps raising. Fun fact though you can say “be mine” without breaking the bank.
So, if you are dating on this great Hallmark holiday, it is possible to show love without watching your wallet. Here are some smart ways to watch your wallet this Valentine’s Day.
Be Creative
There are ways to show someone you care without spending money. Take a minute and use your imagination get creative. Take your significant other on a picnic rather than out to eat. Find a fun activity you used to do as a teenager and bring out the kind in you e.g. bumper cars, mini golf. There are a million things that you and your sweetheart can do that require little to no money. All it takes is some planning and imagination, and remember it is the little things that count the most.
Get Your DIY On
Instead of buying a super expensive piece of jewelry or something else extravagant, give a unique token of love. It can be as easy as writing a poem or making a photo collage, or if you are crafty a painting or crocheted hat. If you haven’t yet, create a Pinterest account, it will be the best thing you will ever do for yourself.
Make A Meal At Home
The restaurants are always hectic on Valentine’s Day. One way to save money is to stay at home and make a nice romantic meal there. Take this time to try a new recipe and be adventurous.
Set A Spending Limit
Not having a spending limit is one of the biggest problems the get many in trouble over the holidays. You should have an honest discussion with your significant other on how much you are going to spend. Setting the limit and expectations beforehand can help manage the day and your wallet.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, it really is the thought that counts, and I am not talking about the thought of getting something but the time and thought you put into what you chose. The best Valentine’s gift is never the most expensive one so take the time to be savvy with your spending and lessen the stress on your wallet.
